Rover P4 | Australian Market

Australian Market History Overview:

The P4 Rover was produced for 15 years from 1949, when it replaced the P3, through to 1964 by which time the Rover Company was producing P5 and P6 Rover sedans and the Land Rover range of vehicles. The P4 is often referred to as the ‘Auntie’ Rover, characterised by the comfortable leather and timber interior.

Not all models were available in Australia although most model variants including LHD versions were privately imported. The following P4 Rovers were sold new in the Australian market:

• Rover 75 (including ‘Cyclops’) – 1950 to 1953

• Rover 90 – 1954 to 1959

• Rover 105S and 105R – 1958/59

• Rover 105 – 1959

• Rover 100 (including Mk IV) – 1960 to 1962

• Rover 95 and 110 – 1962 to 1964
